Willie Paul Watson, 66, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at his residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Saturday, December 6, 1958, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Joe Temis Watson and the late Willie Mae Imogene Cartwright Watson.
A retired truck driver, Willie Paul spent many years on the road, where he formed lasting friendships along the way. He was a member of the Phillips Street Church of Christ in Dyersburg, Tennessee. He was a man of simple joys who enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends sharing stories.
Funeral services for Mr. Watson will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, March 14, 2025, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Mr. Andy Brewer.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until 11:30 at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home
He is survived by his wife, Deedee Watson of Temple, Texas; one son, Willie Paul Watson, Jr.; three brothers, Daniel E. Watson of Newbern, Tennessee, Billy Gene Watson of Dyersburg, Tennessee and J. W. Green of Miami, Florida; one sister, Sadie Powell of Dyersburg, Tennessee; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family members who loved him dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Conella Watson: six brothers, Lonnie Watson, Joe Wesley Kirk, Harlan Eugene Watson, Johnny Lee Watson, Howard Van Watson and Joe Allen Watson and seven sisters, Willie Mae Watson, Jossie Mae Powell, Martha Coleman, Mattie Moline Crawford, Nancy Ruth Butler, Delores Watson Montina and Leora Denise Thomas.
Honoring Mr. Watson as pallbearers will be Joseph Caldwell, Paul Fisk, Marcus Fisk, Travis Vaughn, Nigel Mayberry, and Temis Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Medlin, Myron Medlin, Kyle Caton, Mike McLaughlin, Glen Phillips, Joe Rogers, Willie Paul Watson, Jr., Billy Gene Watson, Daniel Watson, and Raymond Thomas.
