William Edward "Eddie" Davis Obituary

William Edward "Eddie" Davis, 76, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born Friday, September 2, 1949, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Wilson W. Davis and the late Margaret Deaton Richardson Davis. He was the husband of Barbara Allen Davis.

Eddie was a devoted truck driver for many years, retiring after a long and dedicated career driving for Ermco and Arkansas Electric. He took great pride in his work and the many miles he traveled, always providing for those he loved.

A proud veteran, Eddie served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His service reflected his strength, courage, and commitment—qualities that defined his life.

Eddie found his greatest joy in the simple moments spent with family. He loved fishing trips on the Mississippi River and Reelfoot Lake, where laughter and stories were just as important as the catch. When he wasn’t on the water, he could often be found in his shop, happily tinkering, rebuilding, or painting old cars he had brought back to life with his own hands.

He also enjoyed a good Western movie, especially those starring John Wayne or Clint Eastwood—heroes whose grit and character he admired.

Above all, Eddie was a man of strong and unwavering faith. As a dedicated member of Three Oaks Baptist Church, he lived his beliefs daily and was known for his quiet strength and steady devotion to God.
