William "Billy" Scobey, 49, of Obion, Tennessee died on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Baptist Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven, Mississippi.
Born Saturday, June 17, 1972 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Donnie L. Scobey and the late Minnie Maclin Scobey. He was a retired paramedic and served on the EMS Strike Team. Mr. Scobey was a member of the Obion Fire Department and had formerly served with the Newbern Fire Department where he reached the rank of Lieutenant. He was the founding member of the band, Faultline 155.
Funeral services for Mr. Scobey will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Archie Larry. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Cutler Scobey of Obion, Tennessee; two daughters, Lilli Callens of Obion, Tennessee and Emalee Collins (Austin) of Union City, Tennessee; one brother, Barry Scobey (Connie) of Newbern, Tennessee and one sister, Cindy Pledge (Jackie) of Newbern, Tennessee.
Honoring Mr. Scobey as pallbearers will be Alan Scobey, Jeff Austin, Clint Scobey, Daryl Holder, Justin Wright and Austin Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be David Scobey, Johnny Ray and Roy Albright.
