William Crocker

William Crocker, 88, of Trenton, Tennessee, died Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was born in Gibson County, Tennessee, on August 24, 1937, to the late Thomas Crocker and the late Emma Jackson Crocker.

Mr. Crocker proudly served his country in the United States Army for more than twenty years. During his distinguished military career, he served during both the Korean War and the Vietnam War and was a solider with the 101st Airborne. He loved his country deeply and carried the values of service, honor, and dedication throughout his life.

Known for his quick wit and playful sense of humor, William was a true character who never met a stranger. He loved to talk, tell stories, and brighten the day of those around him with his friendly personality. Family and friends could often hear him whistling a tune wherever he went. Many also remember the comforting sound of him sitting on his front porch, singing “Amazing Grace” as the day passed by.

An avid outdoorsman, William enjoyed both hunting and fishing, but fishing was undoubtedly his favorite pastime. He spent countless hours casting a line on Kentucky Lake and Carroll County Lake with his best fishing buddy, Dr. George Culbreath. Even when he wasn't making a trip to the lake, he was content to walk to the pond behind his home and spend a peaceful afternoon fishing.

Above all, William loved his family. He especially enjoyed seeing the girls in his life head out on shopping trips and hearing all about the treasures they found along the way. He shared a particularly special bond with his granddaughter, who affectionally called him "My". Together, they spent many happy hours sitting outside waving to everyone who passed by. They also enjoyed taking walks down the road together, kicking cans and making simple memories that will be cherished forever.

William was a faithful and dedicated member of Eldad Baptist Church in Trenton, Tennessee. His unwavering faith guided him throughout his life and was evident in the kindness, generosity, and joy he shared with others.

Graveside services for Mr. Crocker will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Yorkville Cemetery. Officiating this service will be Rev. Jonathan Criswell. Visitation for Mr. Crocker will be held on Friday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of thirty-five years, Judy Couch Crocker of Trenton, Tennessee; one daughter, Katrina Jetton (Jason) of Yorkville, Tennessee and he was "My" to his granddaughter, McKenzie Yarbro (Clayton) of Yorkville, Tennessee and great-grandson, Boone Yarbro.
Honoring Mr. Crocker as pallbearers will be Jason Jetton, Clayton Yarbro, Danny Dunagan, Bobby Cook, Donnie Owen and John McKinley. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Cates and Dr. George Culbreth
