Wayne McLendon

Wayne McLendon, 70, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Monday, January 4, 2021, at his residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, January 11, 1950 in Dawson, Georgia, he was the son of the late John Edward McLendon and the late Roberta Hicks  McLendon. Mr. McLendon worked for Atmos Energy for twenty six years and proudly served his country in the United Sates Army during the Vietnam War.

Visitation for Mr. McLendon will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Interment for Mr. McLendon will be held at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads at a later date.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Eric McLendon of Union City, Tennessee; his fiance, Virginia Therrien of Newbern, Tennessee; one  brother, Micheal McLendon (Candace) of Kalispell, Montana; three sisters, Linda McLendon of Yorkville, Tennessee, Sandra Franks of Yorkville, Tennessee and Carol Scheland of Pennsylvania and three grandchildren, Gabriel McLendon, Josiah McLendon and Felicity McLendon.
