Vania Chantele Lewis, 52, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Regional One Medical in Memphis, Tennessee.
Born Monday, September 24, 1973, in Houston, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Clifton Lewis and Idell Hill Lewis.
Vania found her greatest peace outdoors, where the beauty and quiet solitude of nature brought comfort to her soul. She loved spending time outside, whether planting flowers, tending to her landscaping, or simply enjoying the stillness that nature provided. Watching things grow under her care brought her joy and a deep sense of fulfillment. She also enjoyed the thrill and freedom of being on the water and riding four-wheelers, embracing both adventure and the open air she loved so much.
Vania had her own unique sense of style and enjoyed dressing up for any occasion. Whether casual or formal, she carried herself with confidence and grace, always expressing her personality through the way she dressed.
Vania had so much love to give. She loved her parents, her brother, her sister, her cousins, her nieces and nephews, and all the friends that she made throughout her life. Most of all, Vania loved being a mother to her daughter, Hannah. She was incredibly proud of her and cherished every moment spent in her role as Mom.
She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved dogs, Benji and Bailey, who brought her constant companionship and joy. Her home was filled with love and laughter, especially from her cats, who sometimes seemed to think they were dogs too.
A Celebration of Life Service for Ms. Lewis will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Tatumville Fire Department located at 1030 Tatumville Road, Newbern, Tennessee 38059. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Hannah Clae Evans of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; her mother, Idell Hill Lewis of Trimble, Tennessee; one brother, Toma Lewis (Samantha) of Finley, Tennessee; one sister, Veronica Reasons of Dyersburg, Tennessee and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Clifton Lewis and her grandparents, Clay and Ophelia Hill and Emmett and Mary Elizabeth Lewis.
