Valner Fay Medeiros

Valner Fay Medeiros, 90, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at her residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Monday, August 20, 1934, in Crosby, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Rembert Edwin Montgomery and the late Hallie Irene Ray Montgomery. Mrs. Medeiros spent most of her life in California, where she worked as a telephone operator for Pacific Bell, before moving with her family to Tennessee. She enjoyed gardening and had a special love for pink roses. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, but the times that she cherished the most were those spent with her family.

Cremation services for Mrs. Medeiros are under the direction of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

Surviving are daughter, Mary Katherine Rovenstine (Martin) of Newbern, Tennessee; one son, Michael Medeiros (Candi) of Greenback, Tennessee one brother, Jerry Lee Montgomery of Washington and she was "Grandma" to her ten grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of seventy-four years, Albert Lewis Medeiros: two brothers, Bennie Montgomery and Lawrence Montgomery and one sister, Evelyn Mary Silva.
