Timothy "Tim" Tilley

Timothy "Tim" Tilley, 59, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at his residence.

Born on July 22, 1966, in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Doyle Edward Tilley and the late Margie Ella Cowan Tilley.

Tim was a man whose life was defined by kindness, compassion and a servant’s heart. He truly lived up to his caring nature in both his personal and professional life. Whether working in a nursing home, serving for thirty-four dedicated years as a Monitor Technician in the ICU at Dyersburg Hospital, or providing support through the Dyer County Office on Aging as a caregiver, Tim’s gentle spirit and genuine concern for others were evident to all who knew him. He was a Certified CNA and EMT-IV, roles he carried out with pride, skill, and deep compassion. 

Tim had a special love for animals, especially dogs and cats, and his beloved dog, “Precious,” was a constant companion who brought him great comfort and joy.

In his free time, Tim found happiness in music, particularly the songs of Reba McEntire. Attending her concerts—six in all—was something he treasured deeply, creating memories that stayed close to his heart.

 His presence brought comfort, his work brought healing, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

Graveside services for Mr. Tilley will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Rehoboth Cemetery. Officiating this service will be Bro. Perry Grills. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by his partner, Steven Beasley of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one brother, Otha Wayne Tilley of Dyersburg, Tennessee; three sisters, Dorothy Branch of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Gloria Cooper (Phil) of Newbern, Tennessee and Cathy Mae Ennis of Dyersburg, Tennessee and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family that he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Dale Tilley and two sisters, Glenda Kaye Mann and Thelma Mae Conley.

Honoring Mr. Tilley as pallbearers will be Phillip Dorse, Danny Dorse, Shane Seratt, Josh Butler, Dustin Hendrix and Corey Hendrix.
