Steven Edward "Steve" Martin

Steven Edward "Steve" Martin, 65, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at Harborview Nursing Home in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Wednesday, December 26, 1954 in Tecumseh, Michigan, he was the son of the late Edward Martin and the late Thelma L. Ashanfelter  Martin. Mr. Martin was a graduate of Stautzenburger College Technical School in Michigan. He was a former Correctional Officer at West Tennessee State Penitentiary in Henning, Tennessee, maintenance employee at Tecumseh School in Michigan, former employee of Peerless Gear Manufacturing, worked at  the GM Plant in Michigan and was a retired school bus driver for the Dyer County School System. In his younger years he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing in the choir with the praise and worship team at his church.  Mr. Martin was also very  involved with the  Prison Ministry at Northwest Correctional Facility in Tiptonville, Tennessee.
A memorial service for Mr. Martin will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Maury City Church of God in Maury City, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Burkeen Martin of Newbern, Tennessee; two sons, Mike Martin of Tecumseh, Michigan and Trevor Martin of Alamo, Tennessee; two sisters, Lori Martin of Tecumseh, Michigan and Shirley VanBenschoten of Tecumseh, Michigan and two grandchildren, Riley Martin and Carter Martin.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death  by one brother, Dean Martin.
