Shirley May Aldridge, 80, of Yorkville, Tennessee, died on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
Born Sunday, October 25, 1942, in Flint, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Goodman and the late Georgia Smith Goodman. Mrs. Aldridge was a retired factory employee and a former substitute teacher for the Gibson County School System. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Yorkville, Tennessee.
Funeral services for Mrs. Aldridge will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 22, 2023, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Billy Criswell. Interment will follow at Yorkville Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Aldridge will be held on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, Tennessee.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Stevenson Eugene Tate of Scott City, Missouri, Kenneth Lee Tate of Halls, Tennessee and David Hollis Aldridge of Newbern, Tennessee; two daughters, Regina Renee Shoulders of Newbern, Tennessee and Robin Gustina Fitzpatrick of Halls, Tennessee; one brother, Eugene Goodman (Vivian) of Scott City, Missouri; one sister, Carolyn Brant of Scott City, Missouri; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Aldridge.
Honoring Mrs. Aldridge as pallbearers will be Tim Fitzpatrick, Tyler Fitzpatrick, Thomas Fitzpatrick, Kenneth Lee Tate, Stevenson Tate, Josh Powell, and Landon Ditto.
