Sarah B. James, 82, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Regional One Medical in Memphis, Tennessee.
Born Wednesday, February 9, 1944, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Leitherland and Myrtle Anderson Leitherland.
Mrs. James dedicated many years of service as a quality technician for Quebecor World, where she was known for her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence. She took pride in her work and the friendships she made throughout the years.
Graveside services for Mrs. James will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Bro. Roy Rainey. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Dana Jackson of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two sisters, Joan Watson of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Sharon Chapman of Caruthersville, Missouri; one brother, Alvin Leitherland (Edna) of Yorkville, Tennessee and she was "Nanny B" to her two grandchildren, Ryne Jackson and Taylor Tibbs and eight great-grandchildren, Vann Jackson, Daxx Upchurch, Daman Tibbs, Lilly Tibbs, Luna Tibbs, Nova Tibbs, Orion Tibbs and Greysen Tibbs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray James and one daughter, Joy Leitherland.
Honoring Mrs. James as pallbearers will be Daniel Watson, Ryne Jackson, Taylor Tibbs, Vann Jackson, Triston Sebourn and Jaiden Sebourn.
