Sammy Reed Obituary

Sammy Lynn Reed, 67 of Finley, Tennessee, died on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at his residence in Finley, Tennessee, .

Born Thursday, April 10, 1958, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Marvin Reed and the late Martha Enochs Reed. Sammy leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and deep love for his family and hometown of Finley.

Sammy spent many years working in the Shipping and Receiving Department at Sun Products, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic. After retiring, he continued to serve his community through his own business, Reed's Lawn Care. Mowing lawns wasn't just a job to Sammy—it was a passion. With pride in every perfectly cut yard, he became a familiar and beloved sight around town, riding his mower with a wave and a smile. Known by many as the "Mayor of Finley," Sammy brought joy and connection to all who knew him.

A lifelong baseball enthusiast, Sammy found one of his greatest joys in coaching his two sons in the game he loved so much. He was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and rarely missed a chance to watch or talk about the sport.

Sammy cherished the friendships he built over the years, and he held dear the time spent with his family. His presence was a steady and loving force, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
