Rosemarie Ann Burkett, 84, of Friendship, Tennessee died on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Oakwood Community Living Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Friday, April 4, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Busse Cericola and the late Mary Rinaldi Cericola.
At the center of Rose's world was her family. She adored them fiercely and took immense pride in their lives and accomplishments. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a particularly special place in her heart, and her love for them was boundless.
Rose owned and operated her own business for many years — an achievement that reflected her determination, resilience, and independent spirit. Her accomplishments in business were matched only by her warmth and generosity in her personal life.
Known fondly as the family's "social butterfly," Rose had a natural ability to connect with people. Her vibrant personality, genuine interest in others, and joyful presence made her a cherished friend to many. She valued her friendships deeply and always made time to nurture them.
Traveling was one of Rose's great joys, especially when shared with her loved ones. Among her favorite destinations was Orange Lake, Florida, a special place where countless treasured memories were made with family.
Cremation services for Mrs. Burkett are under the guidance of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Illinois.
She is survived by one daughter, Wendy M. Dzurney (Rick) of Friendship, Tennessee, one son, Robert A. Burkett (Gwen) of Lockport, Illinois; one brother, Joe Cericola of Villa Park, Illinois, one sister, Carolyn Moczulewski (Frank) of Crystal Lake, Illinois, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Robert Burkett, sister-in-law, Karen Cericola, and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Dzurney.
