Ronnie Joe Evans

Ronnie Joe Evans, 70, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Harborview Nursing Home in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Monday, July 3, 1950 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Walter C. Evans and the late Annie Lee Ladd Evans. He was the retired owner of R. J.'s Cafe in Newbern, Tennessee and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Graveside services for Mr. Evans will be 4:30 PM on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Mr. Mark Pape. Visitation for Mr. Evans will be held Wednesday from 3:30 PM until 4:15 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by one sister, Jo Nelle Johnson of Newbern, Tennessee; eight nieces; six nephews and a host of extended family who loved and cared for him.

In addition to her parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Walker Evans; six brothers, James Howard "Jimmy" Evans, Cecil Evans, Wilbern "Squeekie" Evans, Billy "Speck" Evans, William R. "Willie Bob" Evans and Jerry Lee Evans; two sisters, Tommie Puckett and Sue Murray and one nephew, Jeff Evans.

Honoring Mr. Evans as pallbearers will be Johnny Johnson, Timmy Murray, Joey Murray, Tony Evans, Randy Evans and Jimmy Shelton. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve "MooMoo" Pledge, Johnny Berry, Angie Terry, Wade Perry and Paul Wayne Evans.
