Ronald Eugene Meagher Obituary

Ronald Eugene Meagher, 76, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born Friday, May 7, 1948, in Spokane, Washington.

 

Ronald was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. His unwavering dedication to his country and his community was evident throughout his life.

Following his military service, Mr. Meagher worked diligently in highway construction, contributing to the infrastructure that so many rely upon. In addition to his hard work, he found great joy and freedom in riding motorcycles, a passion that brought him many miles of adventure and camaraderie.

Deeply committed to honoring those who served, Mr. Meagher was a devoted member of the Patriot Guard, standing in solemn respect for fellow veterans who had passed, ensuring they received the recognition and dignity they deserved. His support and dedication to fallen heroes reflected the deep sense of honor and patriotism that defined his character.

In his spare time, he found peace in the quiet serenity of fishing, enjoying the simple pleasure of casting a line and appreciating nature’s beauty.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of service, dedication, and kindness will live on in the hearts of many.

After cremation, he will be laid to rest at Parker’s Crossroads Veterans Cemetery in Wildersville, Tennessee." Rest in peace, Mr. Meagher. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Gloria Jean Cox Meagher of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one daughter, Michelle Lynn Dabuet (Patrick) of Bloomfield, New York; two step-daughters, Dawn Stapleton (Gregory) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Denise Surber of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one son, Robert Glenn Nix, Jr. of Orlando, Florida; one brother, Neal Meagher of Spokane, Washington; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Paul Meagher and two brothers and two sisters.

Cremation services for Mr. Meagher are under the direction of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
