Roger Lynn Willis

Roger Lynn Willis, 75, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at his residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born on May 25, 1950, in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Dan Willis and the late Alline Barker Willis.

Roger was a retired employee of the City of Newbern, where he dedicated many years of service to his community. He was a father and “PawPaw,” he was always there for his family.

Roger enjoyed the quietness of life and found comfort in simple routines. He could often be found relaxing at home, watching his favorite television show, Gunsmoke, over and over again, something that brought him a sense of peace.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Willis will be held  at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2026,  in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Mr. Serge Shoemaker. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by one daughter, Kate Davidson of Arlington, Tennessee; one son, Shawnee Willis of Paris, Tennessee; one brother, Ronnie Willis of Newbern, Tennessee; two sisters, Cheryl Walker (Larry) of Newbern, Tennessee and Bobbie Faye Cantoni of Hobart, Indiana; he was "PawPaw Pig" to his three grandchildren, Shayla Willis of Paris, Tennessee, Cole Willis of Paris, Tennessee and Sam Davidson of  Arlington, Tennessee and one great-grandchild, Echo Jordan of Paris, Tennessee and a grandchild expected to join the family in July.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Tee Willis, Curtis Willis, Lois Willis and Carl Ray Willis and five sisters, Ruth Walker, Mary Lois Rogers, Geraldine Proud, Reba Macedo and Wanda Jacobs.
