Robert Thomas Sanders

Robert Thomas Sanders, 77, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Monday, November 11, 2024, at his residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Friday, December 20, 1946, in Ripley, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Arthur Russel Sanders and the late Sue Fields Ballard. Mr. Sanders proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a former quality control employee for Goodyear in Union City, Tennessee. He genuinely enjoyed his daily visits to B & B Market to catch up with friends and hear the latest news. In his spare time, he always enjoyed fishing.

Funeral services For Mr. Sanders will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Mr. Aaron Evans. Interment will follow at Pierce Cemetery, in Trimble, Tennessee. Visitation for Mr. Sanders will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory,  three daughters, Melissa Evans (Aaron) of Newbern, Tennessee, Beth Sanders (Evan) of Newbern, Tennessee and Elisa Pace of Newbern, Tennessee; five sons, David "Bubba" Reed of Finley, Tennessee, Matthew Reed of Finley, Tennessee, Darrell Reed (Beverly) of Finley, Tennessee, Joey Reed (Bonnie) of Finley, Tennessee and Steve Reed (Athena) of Finley, Tennessee; one brother, Russel Sanders, two sisters, Ronda Hollingsworth (Eddie) of Camden, Tennessee and Linda Hayne  and host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family who that loved him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Miller Sanders, one son, Chris Sanders, three brothers, Terry Sanders, William Sanders and Cecil Heughs and two sisters, Roberta Marshall, and Maylynn Moore.
Honoring Mr. Sanders as pallbearers will be David "Bubba" Reed, Matthew Reed, Darrell Reed, Joey Reed, Blake Sanders, Evan Sanders, Tyler Winchester, and Christopher Winchester. Honorary pallbearer will be Elijah Evans.
