Robert Earl Hogg, 59, of Samburg, Tennessee, died on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Vanderbilt Wilson University Hospital in Lebanon, Tennessee.
Born Friday, December 31, 1965, in Charlotte, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Albert Paul Hogg and the late Mary Lou Davis Hogg.
Robert worked for many years as a construction worker, but his true passion was found on the waters and in the woods of Reelfoot Lake. He proudly served as a fishing and duck hunting guide, sharing his knowledge, skill, and love for the outdoors with countless others. Robert was happiest when he was surrounded by people, flashing his unforgettable smile and making sure everyone around him was having a good time and enjoying life as he did.
He also had a love for food and never passed up the chance to enjoy a good meal—especially a perfectly cooked steak.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Hogg will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Samburg Baptist Church located at 239 Second Avenue, Samburg, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Dr. Chris Gooch.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one sister, Sandra Lee Caldwell of South Fulton, Tennessee: four nephews, Cassidy Caldwell (Corrina), Bren Norris, Dr. Lee Elliott and Brad Jordan (Zana).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Paula Sue Norris and two nephews, Blake Jordan and Tyler Gurien.
