Randahl Eugene "Randy" Jones Obituary

Randahl Eugene "Randy" Jones, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky died on Friday, February 7, 2025, at his residence in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

Born on February 15, 1951, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Eugene Jones and Sue Council Jones and one sister, Paula Jones Davidson.

Randy was raised in Newbern, Tennessee, and graduated from Dyer County High School in 1969, where he was an outstanding quarterback for the Choctaws.  He furthered his education at the University of Tennessee at Martin, earning a degree in accounting. While at UTM, he was a partner in The Deli, a local favorite known for having the best subs around.

After graduating, Randy moved to Nashville, Tennessee and later to Chicago, Illinois, where he passed his CPA exam.  He eventually settled in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, where he raised his family and made his home until his death.

Randy loved his children and grandchildren more than life itself.  He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and found simple pleasures, such as spending time around his pool in the summer, playing golf, and traveling extensively throughout the United States.

In the last three years of his life, he suffered from long Covid, yet he faced his challenges with strength and resilience.
