Phyllis Atwell Griffin

Phyllis Atwell Griffin, 68 of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Monday, June 18, 2018, at Regional One Medical in Memphis, Tennessee.

Born Saturday, June 17, 1950 in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Dewey Atwell and the late Westel Louise Henson Atwell. She was a retired employee of Bellsouth and a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Griffin will be 10:00 AM on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Southside Baptist Church in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Bro. Loren Stephens. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home and on Friday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Southside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Danny Griffin of Dyersburg, Tennessee; three daughters, Amy Burkhead (Keith) of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Cyndi Daniels (Tony) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Heather Lusk (Chris) of Milan, Tennessee; two brothers, Danny Joe Atwell (Pat) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Terry Atwell all of Dyersburg, Tennessee; three sisters, Vickie Reed (David) of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Melissa Frizzell of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Julie Branham of Dyersburg, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Joshua Burkhead, Briar Burkhead (Emily), T. J. Daniels (Brooke), Torri Daniels, Alex Griffin, Benjamin Griffin and Danielle Lusk and one great-grandchild, Amelia Grace Daniels.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Lou Griffin.

Pallbearers will be Ernest Atwell, Jeremiah Reed, Joseph Swafford, Jacob Swafford, Michael Richards and Bradley Hudson.
