Phillip Lewis Waller Obituary

Phillip Lewis Waller, 68, of Newbern, Tennessee, died Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Okeena Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

He was born October 31, 1957, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, to Barbara Hall and the late Bobby Waller.

Phil was a graduate of Dyersburg High School class of 76 where he was an outstanding member of the DHS Trojan Band, mastering both, the trombone and tuba. He had a beautiful bass voice. He was president of D. E.C.A. He attended MTSU. Anyone who met Phil never forgot him.

He had a very outgoing personality and never met a stranger. A smile always on his face, as he enjoyed life. He delighted in a good cup of coffee and good conversation. He had a successful career in radio, sales and as an entrepreneur. He enjoyed traveling, especially the time he spent in the Philippines. He was a loving father and treasured his family. He was especially proud of his daughter and grandchildren

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Britta Waller of NC, granddaughter, Ella Walters of SC, grandson, Elijah Gibbs, West Memphis, Ark and Beth Waller Strader, his best friend and Britta’s mother of SC His mother, Barbara Hall , two sisters Renee Waller, Carol Galloway (Robert) all of Yorkville TN;  nephews Michael Work (Melissa) and Keaton Galloway , of Yorkville TN and his lifelong friend, Dave Countess.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Waller

A private service will be held at a later date.

The family want to express their appreciation and gratitude for excellent care given to Phil by Okeena Health and Rehabilitation Center of Dyersburg and Caris Health Care Hospice of

 Milan.
