Peggy Shoulders Childrey

Peggy Shoulders Childrey, 81, of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at her residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, July 26, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Claude Halum Shoulders and the late Virginia Ballard Shoulders.

Graveside services for Mrs. Childrey will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Church Grove Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Mr. Patrick Williams. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.

She is survived by three sons, Phillip Childrey (Penny) of Ridgely, Tennessee, Marty Childrey of Newbern, Tennessee and Chris Childrey of Dyersburg, Tennessee and two grandchildren, Preston Childrey and Dillion Childrey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of sixty-two years, Gordon "Pete" Childrey, one granddaughter, Kaylee Childrey: five brothers, Larry Gene Shoulders, Danny Monroe Shoulders, Charles Dewayne Shoulders, John Ardie Shoulders and Donnie Chris Shoulders and three sisters, Betty Sue "Susie" Everett, Sherry Gail Stafford and Latricia Jackson.
