Paul T. Green, Jr., 83, of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the home of his son in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Born on March 1, 1943, in Dyer County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Paul Green, Sr. and the late Dorothy Mae Hall Green.
Paul proudly served his country in the Tennessee National Guard for ten years, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism. He was also a dedicated businessman and the longtime owner and operator of Paul’s Cleaners, where he faithfully served his community for sixty-two years. Through hard work, dependability, and kindness, he built lasting relationships with generations of customers and friends.
Outside of work, Paul found great joy in spending time on Kentucky Lake, where he especially enjoyed fishing and the peaceful moments shared with family and friends. He also loved camping and treasured the memories made around the campground. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed woodworking and took pride in creating projects with his hands, a hobby that reflected his patience, creativity, and craftsmanship.
Funeral services for Mr. Green will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Johnny Michael. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He is survived by one son, Paul Michael Green (Alexis); of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; one daughter, Tina Guess (Alan) of Covington, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Holli Yarbro, Kali Green, Tory Green and Dean Jackson and two great-grandchildren, Leon and Raelynn.
Honoring Mr. Green as pallbearers will be family and friends.
