Patsy Edith Coffey

Patsy Edith Coffey, 81, of Ripley, Tennessee died on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born Sunday, December 3, 1939 in Lauderdale County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Louis Griggs and the late Ruth Kirkpatrick Griggs. Ms. Coffey was a retired employee of Tupperware. After her retirement, she enjoyed working along side her brother, Willie, and her nephew, Steve at the Antique Mall in Ripley. She also worked for the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department as a cook; where she enjoyed fixing home cooked meals for the inmates.  In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing and working in the yard.  Her greatest pleasure was the time that she shared with her family.

Funeral services for Ms. Coffey will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 27, 2021 in the Chapel of Garner Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Pastor Billy Elder. Interment will follow in Asbury Cemetery near Ripley, Tennessee. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Garner Funeral Home.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Kim Coffey (Joe Maxey) of Ripley, Tennessee and Lisa Hutcherson (Jimmy) of Ripley, Tennessee; two brothers, Willie Griggs of Ripley, Tennessee and Monte Griggs (Mary Ella) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two sisters, Pam Carmack (Frank) of Ripley, Tennessee and Tammie Chilcutt (Jack Jones )of Newbern, Tennessee and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Sellers.

Honoring Ms. Coffey as pallbearers will be Gary Elder, Mike Escue, Franklin Carmack, Ben Carmack, Addison Carmack, Gunnar Carmack and Heston Carmack.
