Odell O. "Buddy" Weeks, Jr., 78, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Regional One Medical in Memphis, Tennessee.
Born Monday, March 24, 1947, in Tyronza, Arkansas, he was the son of Odell O. Weeks and the late Edith Darlene Buchanon Myers and her husband, Kirt.
He was affectionately known by his family and friends as “Buddy." He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he served in Vietnam for seven years. A man of many talents and interests, he enjoyed all kinds of music but was especially fond of the old hymns, and at times you would hear him play his favorites on the guitar. Buddy was a man of many hobbies and had a special interest in electronics. For forty years, he was the owner and operator of The Shoppers Guide, where he made many lifelong friendships along the way. Above all, Buddy’s greatest calling was sharing the Gospel. He loved to teach, preach, and tell others about his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Having earned his Bachelor of Divinity, he faithfully served as a minister for nearly fifty-three years. He was the beloved pastor of Lake Road Baptist Church until his health began to decline, where his ministry touched countless lives and hearts. Buddy loved his family deeply, cherishing every moment spent with them.
