Nikki Jane Elder Kirby

Nikki Jane Elder Kirby, 65, of Finley, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, in Jackson, Tennessee, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on November 19,1959, in Dyersburg, Nikki was a dedicated and hardworking woman.  She retired from SRG in January 2025, having worked at Heckethorn Manufacturing in Dyersburg until its closure.

The family was at the center of Nikki's life.  She is survived by her sons, Kevin Kirby (and girlfriend Stephanie Kent) of Pennsylvania, and Jeremy Kirby of Finley, Tennessee.  She was a proud and loving grandmother to Peytynn Kirby and Colton Kirby, both of Pennsylvania, Hayden Kirby of Finley, Tennessee and Finley Dowdy of Finley, Tennessee

Nikki cherished every moment spent with her family and friends.  She shared a lifelong, sister-bond with her dearest friend, Sandy Meadly, who stood faithfully by her side in her final moments.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Dean Elder and Nick Elder, and sister, Debbie Cox and daughter-in law, Emily Dowdy.

Nikki will be remembered for her warmth, loyalty, and gentle strength.  Her love kindness touched all who knew her, and her memory will live on in our hearts of those she loved most.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 10, 2025, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Patrick Williams. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Friendship, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2:30 until 4:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
