Nettie Thomason Cole Obituary

Nettie Thomason Cole, 85, of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Monday, June 1, 2026, at her residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Saturday, June 8, 1940, in Newbern, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Joffre Thomason and the late Freeda Hardin Thomason.

Nettie devoted many years of her life to serving others through her work. She began her career at All-Wear Manufacturing before joining Burch Foods, where she worked as a route controller for many years until her retirement. Through her dedication, dependability, and strong work ethic, she earned the respect and friendship of her coworkers throughout her career.

A woman of deep faith, Nettie was a devoted member of Newbern First Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class, where she enjoyed fellowship, worship, and building lasting friendships with her church family.

Nettie found great joy in the simple blessings of country life. Alongside her husband, she loved spending time on the farm, especially checking cattle and helping with daily farm activities. She was never afraid of hard work and was even known to climb onto the tractor and lend a hand whenever needed.

One of Nettie's greatest pleasures was tending to her flower gardens. She took pride in nurturing beautiful blooms and found peace and contentment among her flowers. Her love for nature was evident in the care she gave to every garden she planted.

Nettie also enjoyed traveling and creating memories with those she loved. Her favorite destination was Gatlinburg, where she enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and the peaceful atmosphere. She also treasured trips to Paducah, Kentucky, where she could spend hours watching the riverboats make their way along the Mississippi
