Nancy P. Beard

Nancy Jane Pearson Beard, 77, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born on February 17, 1948, in Dyer County, Tennessee, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Eston Arley Pearson and the late Ruth May Weir Pearson. She and her husband, Donald W. Beard, proudly operated Aunt Ginny’s Bed & Breakfast in Dyersburg, where together they welcomed guests with genuine warmth, hospitality, and a spirit of joy.

Nancy was a former employee of the Dyer County Board of Education and the former owner of The Berry Basket, a counted cross-stitch store well known in the community for its extensive and impressive inventory.

She and her husband shared a heart for adventure. They owned a hot air balloon, and were known for the playful saying, “In order to ride in the balloon, you must crew.” Nancy loved the friendships and fun that grew from those memorable experiences.

A woman of many talents, Nancy loved to cook and delighted in sharing her homemade jams, jellies, and freshly baked bread with friends, family, and coworkers. She was also a dedicated member of Christ Church Baptist Fellowship, where her faith and kindness were evident to all who knew her.

Nancy’s life was marked by her compassion, her love for animals—especially her cherished cats—and her joy in dancing. She brought laughter, generosity, and warmth into the lives of others, and her presence will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Beard will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Christ Church Baptist Fellowship located at 5774 Millsfield Highway in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Pastor Jeremy Ballinger. Fellowship meal to follow after service in the church fellowship hall.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Beard, with whom she shared many years of love and companionship.
