Montie Alton Rogers Obituary

Montie Alton Rogers, 72, 

passed away unexpectedly on his last adventure in Ketchikan, Alaska. Born in Marmaduke, AR, on October 4, 1949, he was a resident of Dyersburg for 50 years. 

Montie served his country well as a Marine during the Vietnam era. He retired as manager of Smitheal Farms of Dyersburg after almost 50 years of service. 

Montie was preceded in death by his parents, K. W. and Maggie Rogers, all eight of his siblings, his first wife Patricia Dowdy Rogers, and his oldest son Victor K. Rogers. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 20 years Joy Manley Rogers of Dyersburg, his daughter Caitlin Reis (Chad) of Ankeny, Iowa, his son Connor Wayne Rogers of Dyersburg, his stepson Evan Butler of Phoenix, AZ, his grandson Joshua Rogers (Erin) of Jackson, TN, his granddaughter Penelope Reis of Ankeny, Iowa, his sister-in-law Kay Manley of Memphis, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

A celebration of life service for Mr. Rogers will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Rehoboth Church, located at 225 Rehoboth Church Road in Newbern, TN.  Officiating the service will be Rev. Dan Tilly and Pastor David Richards.
