Minnie Frances Sawyers

Minnie Frances Sawyers, 90, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Okeena Health and Rehabilitation Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Tuesday, June 26, 1934, in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Epperson and the late Bethel Campbell Epperson. Mrs. Frances married the love of her life, Virgil Sawyers, and together they shared a remarkable 65 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love and family. Her devotion to her husband and their journey together was an inspiration to all who knew them.

 She loved her flowers and possessed a green thumb; she could coax beauty from the soil. Her flowers were a reflection of the care she poured into every aspect of her life.

Above all, she cherished her role as wife, mother and grandmother. She poured her love into raising and supporting them with unconditional love, guidance and wisdom.

Graveside services for Mrs. Sawyers will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Mr. Patrick Williams. Visitation for Mrs. Sawyers will be held on Thursday from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She is survived by three sons, Larry Sawyers (Cindy) of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Tommy Sawyers (Leslie) of Newbern, Tennessee and Mike Sawyers (Debbie) of Newbern, Tennessee; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Sawyers; three brothers, Robert Epperson, James Epperson and J. B. Epperson and two sisters, Pauline Sawyers and Ila Weaver.

Honoring Mrs. Sawyers as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
