Mildred Lovings Hall, 90, of Union City, Tennessee, Tennessee, formerly of Reelfoot Lake, Tennessee, died on Saturday, June 7, 2025-the same day she and husband, Billy George Hall, marked seventy-two years of marriage
Born Saturday, October 13, 1934, in Mooring (Lake County), Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late William Hardy "W.H." Lovings and the late Lilly Harris Lovings.
Mildred grew up with strong family values and a deep love for her hometown. She graduated from Ridgely High School and attended Memphis State University. On June 7, 1953, she married Billy George Hall, beginning a lifelong journey of partnership, love, and devotion.
Although she held various positions throughout her working years — including with Sears & Roebuck, Ivers & Pond, Underwriters Adjusting Company and LaRose Uniform — Mildred always considered being a wife and mother her most important and rewarding role. She was the heart of her home: a nurturing spirit with a strong sense of purpose, a straightforward nature, and a quick wit. She served as an excellent role model, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
After retiring, she and George left Memphis and returned to their roots near Reelfoot Lake, a place that held deep meaning for them both. They found joy in the quiet beauty of home and the community they loved.
Mildred was Baptist by faith and a longtime member of Wynnburg Baptist Church, where she worshiped and served faithfully.
She leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and the kind of wisdom that only a life well-lived can offer
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Hall will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Wynnburg Baptist Church. Officiating this service will be Rev. John Poor and Rev. John Troutman. Reception to follow in the church fellowship hall.
She is survived by her husband Billy George Hall of Union City, Tennessee; one son, Billy G. Hall, Jr. (Dianne) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; son-in-law, Paul Dorval of Memphis, Tennessee and she was Grandmommy to her five grandchildren, Chelsy Hall Melvin (Michael), Dillon Hall, Abby Hall, Carly Duran (Austin) and Brianna Derksen (Zack) and three great-grandchildren, George Melvin, Charlie Melvin and Wallace Derksen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Lynn Hall Dorval and two sisters, Willa Dean Marvin and Daisy Brown and one brother, J. W. Lovings.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you consider a contribution to the charity of your choice.
