Michael Wayne "Big Mike" Harrington, 67, died on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Thursday, February 14, 1957, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of the late Robert and Betty Smith Hooper. Mr. Harrington was a self-employed master mechanic. He was a devoted member of various motorcycle organizations and enjoyed playing music with numerous bands in this area. In keeping with "Big Mike's " loving and generous spirit, it was his decision to donate life so that others may live.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Harrington will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 22, 2024, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Travis Davison and Mr. Lloyd Wayne Moore. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
He is survived by two sisters, Pam Hooper (Trevor Miotti) of Newbern, Tennessee and Beverly Rossel (Cary) of Dallas, Texas: three nieces Ilana Rossel of Dallas, Texas, Sara Nees Lively of Stephenville, Texas and Dana Lowers of Friendship, Tennessee; five nephews, Jeremy Rossel of Dallas, Texas, Bradley Rossel of Dallas, Texas; Mason Miotti of Jackson, Tennessee; Preston Miotti of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Stephen Nees of Stephenville, Texas; one special great nephew, Braxton Layne Miotti; two great nephews, three great nieces; special aunt, Louise Pease of Dyersburg, Tennessee: a host of extended family that he loved dearly and his beloved Harley, "Aunt Kate."
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Anita Gilbert and Linda Nees.
