Mary K. "Kathy" Gilliland

Mary K. "Kathy" Gilliland, 75. of Dyersburg, Tennessee, went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Sunday, October 15, 2023, surrounded by her family, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born Friday, October 1, 1948, in Flint, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late John Massie Mallard and the late Jewel Sorrell Mallard. Ms. Gilliland worked for over thirty years as a surgical nurse for Dr. Lynn Warner. She was a member of Dyersburg First Assembly of God Church and enjoyed cooking and crafts.

Funeral services for Ms. Gilliland will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Dyersburg First Assembly of God located at 730 East Court Street in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Pastor Jacob Wingarden.Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery near Trenton, Tennessee. Visitation for Ms. Gilliland will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Dyersburg First Assembly of God. 

She leaves to treasure her memory, one son, Kevin Gilliland (Debbie) of Newbern, Tennessee; two brothers, Nathan Mallard (Gwen) of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and Ronnie Mallard (Sandra) of Covington, Tennessee; one sister. Liz Hinson of Dyersburg, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Ann Mallard of Dyersburg, Tennessee. She was "GrannyToo" to three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond B. Gilliland, Jr.; one brother, Bosco Mallard and one sister, Shirley Ramey.

Honoring Ms. Gilliland as pallbearers will be Bubba Mallard, Dickie Green, Brian Mallard, Quinton Lee, Heath Brewer and Chris Ramey.
