Mary Dean Newell

Mary Dean Newell, 86. of Newbern, Tennessee died on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at her residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Tuesday, August 7, 1934 in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Franklin Willis and the late Martha Evelyn Barker  Willis. Mrs. Newell was a retired receptionist for the Internal Medicine Clinic of Dyersburg, Tennessee and was a member of the Glendale Church of Christ.

Funeral services for Mrs. Newell will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Bro. Serge Shoemaker and Mr. T. J. VanDyke. Interment will follow in Zion Cemetery in Cloverdale, Tennessee. Visitation for Mrs. Newell will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. 

She is survied by one son, Rufus W. Noble, III (Karen) of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one daughter, Becky Noble Sloat (Jeff) of Memphis, Tennessee; one brother, Harold Willis (Betty) of Newbern, Tennessee; one sister, Shirley Ann Walker of Newbern, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Deana Hardin, T. J. VanDyke (Nikki), Ashley Pigue (C. P.), Andrew Noble (Maria) and Allison Noble; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Oneita Underwood.

Honoring Mrs. Newell as pallbearers will be T. J. VanDyke, Andrew Noble, Mike Underwood, Paige Underwood, Logan Lambert , Kenny Luckett, Daniel Walker and Johnny Finley. Honorary pallbearer will be Harold Willis.
