Marty "Hump" Sykes

Marty “Hump” Sykes, 57, of Lenox, Tennessee died on Thursday, September 3, 2020 in Troy, Ohio.

Born on January 22, 1963 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Wilburn “Roughhouse” Sykes and Dema Stafford Sykes Baggett. He was a driver with Averitt Trucking Company and an avid fisherman and drag racing participant.

Funeral services for Mr. Sykes will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.  Officiating this service will be Rev. Jerry Stafford and Rev. Mike Autry. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Visitation for Mr. Sykes will be Monday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by two daughters, Amanda Blair Sykes of Mobile, Alabama and Marti Ann Sykes of Lenox, Tennessee; his mother, Dema Sykes Baggett of Lenox, Tennessee; one sister, Mandy Kidd (Bruce) of Lenox, Tennessee; one brother, Kenny Sykes of Lenox, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Carlee Walton, Heath Walton and Hunter Walton and one great-grandson, Weslynn North.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Tammy Sykes Heathcott.

Honoring Mr. Sykes as pallbearers will be Greg Hardin, Joseph Hardin, Tim Hardin, Kenneth “Cannonball” Childress, Faron Cruz, Daniel Walton, Darrell Reed and Roger Robbins.
