Martha Marie Cobb

Martha Marie Cobb, 97 of Newbern, died on Monday, November 5, 2018, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Born Sunday, January 23, 1921 in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley Connell and the late Maggie Lou Connell. She a retired private duty sitter for Parkview Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee and a member of the Newbern First Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cobb will be 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Jacky Goad. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Cobb, Jr. (Hilda) of Fairview, Tennessee and Gary Cobb of Newbern, Tennessee; one daughter, Luanne Sammons (Phillip) of Kenton, Tennessee; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cobb and three brothers, Jake Connell, Burton Connell and C. W. Connell.

Pallbearers will be Mark Cobb, James Cobb, Joshua Cobb, Jared White, Jordan White and Clint Day.
