Marsleete "Marcie "Louise Dennison Obituary

Marsleete (Marcie) Louise Dennison passed away June 6, 2018 at Dyersburg Rehabilitation and Convalescent Center in Dyersburg at the age of 90.  Marcie was born January 3, 1928 in Martin Tennessee to her parents, Lee and Grace Garner. She loved to talk of growing up on the farm, helping her dad work the crops with mules and horses. She continued the farm life when she married Harold Dennison September 26, 1945. While growing crops and livestock she also found the time to bear and raise 6 children.  She worked on the farm, cooked great meals and often entertained the family playing songs like “In The Mood” and the “Boogie Woogie” on the piano.  She passed her love of music and a strong Christian and work ethic down to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by a sister Edna Ruth Duffy; 6 children, Charlotte Atchison (Jim), Linda Sholar (Ron), Kathy Whitwell (Ted), Mike Dennison (Laura), Shirley Hartsfield (Anthony), Tim Dennison; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, James Garner (KIA in WWII European theater), Leonard Garner, and Harold Garner; a sister, Dorothy Garner, a grandson, Jason Sholar, her parents Lee Addison Garner and Grace LeGrant Garner and her husband Harold Talmadge Dennison.
Visitation for Mrs. Dennison will be at 11:30 am Sunday, June 10 at Johnson Williams Funeral Home in Newbern TN followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm at the same location. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, TN.
