Marshall Benard Edwards, 52, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Monday, January 22, 1973, in Dyersburg, Tennessee to Thomas Lee Edwards and the late Sadie B. Strayhorn Edwards.

Marshall loved his family and found joy in the simple things in life. He never met a stranger—his warm personality and friendly nature made everyone feel welcome. Marshall had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his beloved dog, Sadie, who was always by his side. His kindness, love for others, and gentle spirit will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He was a specialty Operator for 501 K Recycling.

Cremation services for Mr. Edwards are under the direction of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by his partner, Josh Parks of Newbern, Tennessee; his  father, Thomas Lee Edwards of Chicago, Illinois; his uncle, R. Lee Strayhorn of Dyersburg, Tennessee and four brothers, Marcus "Wayne" Edwards of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Micheal Edwards of Trimble, Tennessee, Mario Edwards (Kari-Beth) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Stacy Edwards and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sadie B. Strayhorn Edwards and grandmother, Helen Mary Strayhorn.
