Mark Anthony Rickman Obituary

Mark Anthony Rickman, 63, of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at his residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, April 18, 1962 in Ridgely, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Sam D. Rickman and Mildred Cook Rickman Lawson.

Mark was a man who truly lived life to the fullest. He spent his years working with his hands, first as a carpenter for Eugene Smith and later as a dedicated employee of Servpro in Newbern, Tennessee. But his legacy was not just in the work he did—it was in the love and warmth he shared with those around him.

Known as "Poppy" by his beloved granddaughter, Ellie Claire Rickman, Mark found immense joy in the simple, yet profound, moments with his family and friends. He loved to deer hunt, fire up the grill, and gather loved ones around a meal, savoring not just the food but the togetherness. His adventurous spirit carried him to new places, but no matter where he traveled, his heart was always rooted in the people he cherished.

A devoted man of faith, Mark found deep meaning in worship and fellowship at church. Bro. Ray Winstead fondly remembered how he was always the first to arrive and how his prayers—gentle and heartfelt—left a lasting impression on all who heard them. His unwavering faith, his boundless love for his family, and his appreciation for life's blessings defined who he was.

Mark leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and devotion. Though he may no longer walk among us, the love he poured into his family, friends, and community will forever endure. May his spirit live on in every shared meal, every heartfelt prayer, and every moment spent with those we love.
