Lisa D. Thompson

Lisa D. Thompson, 65, of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born Monday, November 28, 1960 in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Jerry Manley Thompson, Sr. and the late Margaret N. Pleasant Broglin.

Lisa was a woman who found joy in life’s quiet and meaningful moments. She especially loved reading, and one of her greatest pleasures was sharing stories with her grandchildren. Whether gathered together with a favorite book or simply spending time by their side, those moments were treasures she held close to her heart. Lisa also enjoyed relaxing and watching television, finding comfort in the simple routines of everyday life.

More than anything, Lisa loved her family. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, caring heart, and the love she shared with those around her. 

Cremation services for Ms. Thompson are under the direction of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.  

She is survived by one son, Tyler Fowler of Newbern, Tennessee; two  brothers, Darren Thompson of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Manley Thompson of Dyersburg, Tennessee; on sister,Libby Mansfield (Danny) of Dyersburg, Tennessee and she was "Nana" to her three grandchildren, Ayden, Braelyn and Nash.
