Linda "Poodle" Ladd Shelton

Linda "Poodle" Ladd Shelton, 74 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Born Sunday, December 12, 1943 in Newbern, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late James Sullivan Ladd and the late Dorothy Bryan Ladd. She was a retired employee of All Wear Manufacturing and retired owner of Poodle's Pals Daycare. Mrs. Shelton was a member of Emmanus Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shelton will be 12:00 PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. James Hooper and Mr. Chuck Morgan. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee with Rev. John Poor officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Carroll Shelton of Newbern, Tennessee; one son, Jason Shelton of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one daughter, Amy Brown (Terry) of Newbern, Tennessee; one sister, Brenda Poor (John) of Troy, Tennessee; brother-in-law, James Murphy of Newbern, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Preston Shelton, Jeremiah Brown, Madison Brown, Eva Grace Brown, Crystal Brown and Brandon Brown and two great-grandchildren, Eli Brown and Ellie Fowle.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Ann Ladd Murphy.

Pallbearers will be Bill Berry, Jay Williams, Mike Ladd, Bryan McBride, Ricky Shelton and Danny Castleman. Honorary pallbearers will be James Murphy, Sonny Sykes, J. F. Hollandsworth and Joe Peevyhouse.
