Linda Dodds Walters, 82, of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Mrs. Walters was born on March 26, 1938, in Newbern to John and Mary Dodds. She was the youngest of five children. She married Ell Walters on October 10, 1963. She was a retired school teacher with Dyer County School System where she taught 30 years. She was a faithful member of the Newbern Main Street Church of Christ.
Mrs. Walters leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Nancy Medling (James) of Newbern, Lauren Williams (Shane) of Mayfield, Kentucky; one sister, Janie Wylie of Newbern; four grandchildren, Mary Reed (Cameron) and Molly Medling, both of Newbern; Ellie Benson (Ethan) of Murray, Kentucky; Evan Williams of Mayfield, Kentucky. She also leaves a great grandchild, Walter Reed, of Newbern.
Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her husband, Ell Walters, her parents, John and Mary Dodds; three siblings, Johnie Dodds, Eleanor Bradford, and Betty Southern.
Due to the current pandemic situation, a private service for Mrs. Walters will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Main Street Church of Christ with interment in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.
Services will be conducted by Sean Sullivan and Mark Pape.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and Nephews, Evan Williams, Cameron Reed, Ethan Benson, John Dodds, Steve Dodds, Van Wylie and John William Dodds. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Don Bradford and Al Bradford.
