Linda Sanchez

Linda Sanchez, 71, of Hornbeak, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.

Linda was born on December 17, 1954, and raised in Chicago, Illinois, where her bold personality, quick humor, and independent spirit first began to shine. Those qualities stayed with her throughout her life. Later, she made her home in Hornbeak, Tennessee, where she created a life filled with love, loyalty, laughter, and strong family ties.

Linda was many things to many people, but the word that fit her best was simple: firecracker. She was bold, honest, funny, stubborn in the best way, and completely unforgettable. She didn’t try to blend in — she stood out naturally, and the people who loved her wouldn’t have had it any other way.

She shared 52 years of marriage with her husband, Gregory Sanchez, a partnership built on history, commitment, and deep family bonds.

She is survived by her husband, Gregory Sanchez of Hornbeak; her three daughters, Rebecca Turner (Thomas) of Union City, April Aguinaga (Jose) of Chicago, and Crystal Sanchez (Johnny Wayne Blakley) of Obion; her brother, William Turner of Troy; and her sisters, Judy Andrew (Jose Sanchez) of Hornbeak, Sheila Turner of Obion, Janice Turner of Obion, and Margie Jordan of Kenton.

Her greatest joy was being “Grandma” to her six grandchildren: Jose “Tony” Aguinaga, Alyssa Aguinaga, Katelyn Aguinaga, Gregory Cooper, Thomas “TJ” Lobue, and Irene Lobue, and a proud great-grandmother to Liliana Barahona, with another great-grandchild expected soon.

Linda found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved her morning coffee, playing bingo (seriously and competitively), listening to country music — especially Reba McEntire — and surrounding herself with things that brought her happiness, including her favorite color, purple. She had a fondness for butterflies and for small moments that felt meaningful.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Turner and Mattie Ludine Turner, and her brother, Curtis Turner.

Linda’s life was not quiet, not ordinary, and certainly not boring. She brought laughter, attitude, loyalty, and authenticity into every room she entered. Her memory will live on through her family, her stories, and the countless moments that made her exactly who she was.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, January 19, 2026, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Obion, Tennessee.

Pallbearers honoring Linda’s life will be Alyssa Aguinaga, Jose Aguinaga, Jose “Tony” Aguinaga, Dusty Joe Turner, Thomas Lobue Jr., and Johnny Wayne Blakley.
