Linda Davis, 82, of Trimble, Tennessee died on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at her residence in Trimble, Tennessee.
Born Saturday, July 29, 1939, in Obion County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Howard Milton "Bill" Sawyer and the late Frances Louise Jetton Sawyer. Mrs. Davis worked at Trimble Sewing Factory before becoming a stay-at-home wife and "Granny". She was a seamstress for Peggy's in Rutherford, Tennessee and Tempe's in Dyersburg, Tennessee for many years. Mrs. Davis also made many wedding dresses, pageant dresses and hemmed many pairs of pants for the public.
Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Dr. Bill Oakley. Interment will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Johnny Davis of Kenton, Tennessee; two daughters, Sheri Lewis (Kevin) of Union City, Tennessee and Donna Switzer (Stanley) of Newbern, Tennessee; one brother, John Perry Sawyer (Judy) of Shawtown, Tennessee; one sister, Wilma Walker of Dyer, Tennessee and she was "Granny" to her seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Aubrey Davis; one son, Charles Dennis "Cotton" Sims and two sisters, Alice Webb and Dorothy Tatum.
Honoring Mrs. Davis as pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
