Lewis T. Shelton Obituary

Lewis T. Shelton, 82, of Newbern, Tennessee, died on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at his residence in Newbern, Tennessee.

Born Saturday, October 17, 1942, he was the son of the late James Hallie Shelton and the late Olivia Reeves Shelton.

Lewis spent the majority of his career at Jimmy Johnson Auto Sales, where he found not only professional success but lasting friendships. Selling vehicles was more than just a job for Lewis—it was a craft he took pride in and a source of joy throughout his life.

A true lover of the outdoors, Lewis found peace and solitude in nature. For several years, he owned and cared for horses, finding great pleasure in raising and riding them. Golf was another passion of his, and he spent many happy hours on the course enjoying the company of his friends.

At home, Lewis was known for his talent in the kitchen, especially when it came to breakfast. His homemade biscuits and gravy were a family favorite and a testament to his warm, generous spirit.

Lewis will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and the deep connections he formed with those around him.
