Laura Mae Phillips Lindley

Laura Mae Phillips Lindley, 93, of Puryear, Tennessee, formerly of Dyer County, Tennessee died on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Towne Square Care in Puryear, Tennessee.

Born Friday, January 4, 1929 in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late William Nathan Phillips and the late Etta Parnell  Phillips. Mrs. Lindley was a former cafeteria employee for Fifth Consolidated School and Dyersburg High School.  She enjoyed participating in the Paris, Tennessee Senior Olympics were she won forty nine gold medals in the basketball division.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lindley will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Rev. Nathe Ozment. Interment will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Visitation for Mrs. Lindley will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 10:30 AM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Stan Henson of Burns, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Sam Henson, Stephanie Austin, Marcus Henson and Peyton Henson and three great-grandchildren, Matthew Walton, Christopher Walton and Katlyn Walker.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Bonner Lindley and one son, Steve W. Henson.

Honoring Mrs. Lindley as pallbearers will be Stan Henson, Christopher Walton, Nathe Ozment. Matt Ozment, Phil Bradley, Joe Bradley. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Phillips, Kyle Caton and Les Smith.
