Lincoln Coolidge “L.C.” Wilson, 84, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Okeena Health and Rehabilitation in Dyersburg. Born on May 10, 1941, in Dyersburg, he was the son of the late Robert C. Wilson and the late Iris White Wilson.
L.C. was a dedicated public servant, having worked for the City of Dyersburg where he served as Street Superintendent. Known throughout the community simply as “L.C.,” he was admired for his tireless work ethic and unwavering commitment to the town he loved.
An avid outdoorsman, L.C. found joy in fishing, rabbit hunting, and coon hunting—his favorite pastimes. He was also a passionate sports fan, faithfully cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and the Tennessee Vols. When watching a game, his beloved cat Tommy was always by his side, a constant companion and source of comfort.
L.C. will be remembered for his love of nature, his loyalty to his teams, and his deep devotion to family and community.
He is survived by his daughter, Tracy McCord (Greg) of Seabrook, Texas; two grandchildren, Craig Atchison of Seabrook, Texas and Gracie Bryant (Mitchell) of Newbern, Tennessee; and two great-grandchildren, McKenzy Bryant and Luke Bryant, both of Newbern, Tennessee. He also leaves behind one sister, Peggy Richards of Brownsville, Kentucky. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Stacy Barker for her loving care and companionship during L.C.’s final years.
In addition to his parents, L.C. was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-three years, Brenda Faye Childress Wilson; his son, Randy Wilson; three sisters, Dean Szumal, Vicky McCurdy, and Aline Stricker; and three brothers, Donald Wilson, Corbett Wilson, and Ortis Wilson.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, Tennessee, with Rev. Tyler Neely officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the cemetery to honor L.C.’s life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paws To Care, 945 Harris Road, Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024—an organization close to L.C.’s heart.
