The family of Kerry Reed House sadly announces his passing on July 14, 2025, at the age of 84, at his home in Trimble, Tennessee.
Kerry was born on June 29, 1941, the youngest child of Ben Allen and Mary Lorene (Parker) House. After graduating from Trimble High School with the class of 1959, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving from 1962-1964, both in Germany and stateside. He was employed until his retirement with Colonial Rubber in Dyersburg. He was an avid fan of the NASCAR circuit and loved being outdoors. He was a quiet gentleman who kept to himself but would do whatever he could for anyone in need.
Left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Louise Reber of Anderson, California and Brucilla Wright of Humboldt, Tennessee, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kerry's family also wishes to acknowledge a very special person in his life, Tabatha Hill Smith of Newbern, Tennessee. He referred to her as "his angel from heaven" and cared for him on a daily basis despite having a family and responsibilities of her own. Not one to accept assistance easily from anyone, Tabatha simply asked him what he needed, and he allowed her in his heart and life for more than two years. Tabatha's response to our gratitude was simply that she wished to be "the hands and feet of Jesus" for him. She is the finest example of Christian service and love that our family has ever known and there are no words to express how much we appreciate all that she did to give him these last couple of years of happiness.
Preceding him in death are his parents, two sisters, Sonia Crouson Davidson and Patricia McKnight Guttierez and two brothers, Maurice Allen House and Gene Parker House.
In honor of Kerry's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Interment will be in the family ploy of Fairview Cemetery in Newbern. The family asks any donations or remembrances be made in his honor to their favorite charities.
