Karyn N. Long-Taylor, 47, of Dyersburg, Tennessee died on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Tri-Star Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Born Saturday, November 18, 1978 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Long and the late Priscilla Greene Long.
Karyn will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother, whose greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her family. She was always present—encouraging, supporting, and celebrating each of their endeavors, no matter how big or small. The moments she treasured most were the simple, meaningful ones shared together.
Among her family’s most cherished traditions were their “alphabet movie nights,” where each gathering centered around a chosen letter. The children would select a movie and a snack that began with that letter, creating laughter, creativity, and memories that will be treasured for years to come.
Karyn had a deep love for cooking and found joy not only in preparing meals, but in the honest and loving critiques from her family. She welcomed their suggestions with humor and appreciation, always striving to make each dish better than the last. Her home was a place of warmth and she truly loved hosting and bringing people together.
A talented and creative soul, Karyn enjoyed sewing and took great pride in making heartfelt gifts for others. One of the most special of these was a quilt she lovingly made for her daughter, Rachel—a treasured keepsake and lasting symbol of her love. She also delighted in crafting unique and unusual gifts, each one a reflection of her imagination and care.
Music was another passion of Karyn’s life. She loved to sing and found joy in a wide range of styles, from hip-hop and classic rock to the eclectic swing of the 1940s and 1950s.
Karyn also found great happiness in the arts, especially through her involvement in community theatre. She brought energy and heart to the stage in productions such as “Never After Happily” and “The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge,” leaving lasting impressions on both her fellow performers and audiences.
Karyn’s life was marked by love, creativity, and a deep devotion to her family. The memories she created, the traditions she started, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
