Juanita Rose Brewer Work, 88, of Tiptonville, Tennessee, died on Friday, August 15, 2025, at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
She was born on September 13, 1936, in Obion County, Tennessee, to the late Bob and Minnie Bell Brewer.
Mrs. Work was a woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved watching game shows on the Game Show Network and never tired of a good western. A faithful reader of the Lake County Banner, she enjoyed keeping up with the news and happenings of her community.
She took pride in caring for herself, often enjoying trips to have her hair fixed and nails done. Mrs. Work also had a sweet tooth for ice cream—especially when it came from the Dairy Queen in Tiptonville, one of her favorite spots.
Above all, Mrs. Work was the beloved matriarch of her family. She was deeply loved by her son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who treasured every story and moment they shared with her.
Funeral services for Mrs. Work will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Tiptonville, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Bro. Charles Southerland. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery in Hornbeak, Tennessee. Visitation for Mrs. Work will be held on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Tiptonville, Tennessee.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Harris Work, II of Tiptonville, Tennessee and she was "Nanny" to her five grandchildren, Holly Sneed (Jeff), Jason Watson (Stephanie), Dustin Work, Whitney Johnson and Vanessa Pope; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of sixty-two years, Harris "Mr. Pumpkin" Work, who passed away on the very same date in 2016; one daughter, Trena Work Hall; one brother, Charles Brewer, and four sisters, Pauline Spicer, Helen Castleman, Bernice Davis and Bobbie Cranford.
Honoring Mrs. Work as pallbearers will be Dustin Work, Jason, Watson, Dewayne Hodge, Brent Work, Eric Mumford and Matthew Mumford.
